Lake Charles, Louisiana - Area residents will have the opportunity to experience a unique winter celebration in Lake Charles as the City's Community Services Department presents "Skating in a Winter Wonderland" on Saturday, January 4, 2025.

The free community event, scheduled from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., will transform the Gill Street extension at the Lake Charles Event Center into a festive skating venue. Located adjacent to Millennium Park, the area will be illuminated by the traditional 12 Days of Christmas light display, creating an enchanting atmosphere for skaters.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own roller skates or rollerblades to enjoy the specially designated skating area. The Community Services Department has enhanced the experience by offering complimentary hot chocolate to attendees and incorporating artificial snow effects to create an authentic winter ambiance.

This event provides a unique opportunity for our community to enjoy outdoor recreation while experiencing the magic of the holiday season.

The location, situated on the Event Center grounds, offers convenient access for residents from surrounding areas of Lake Charles. Interested parties can obtain additional information about the event by contacting the department at (337) 491-1280 or sending inquiries to [email protected].
