Lake Charles to Host Annual Veterans Day Celebration at Veterans Memorial Park November 11
Lake Charles, Louisiana – The City of Lake Charles announced on October 27, 2022, that the Mayor’s Armed Forces Commission will conduct the City’s annual Veterans Day Celebration on Friday, November 11, 2022, commencing at 10 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park, located on Lakeshore Drive.
Colonel Kevin Melton, USAF (retired), will speak during the program, which will pay special tribute to post-9/11 veterans.
Following the ceremony, a family picnic with hamburgers and hot dogs sponsored by Louisiana Mortgage Associates will be held on the park’s south side. The City of Lake Charles Recreation and Parks Department will also host a Kids Zone at the picnic.
The festivities of the day are free and open to the public, and visitors are encouraged to bring a lawn chair and/or picnic blanket to enjoy the day in Veterans Memorial Park.
