Lake Charles, Louisiana - The City of Lake Charles' Partners in Parks initiative has announced its upcoming Summer Fun Skate Night, scheduled for Friday, June 20, 2025, at the Lake Charles Event Center. The event will run from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., offering residents an evening dedicated to fitness and recreational skating.

Located at 900 Lakeshore Drive, the Summer Fun Skate Night will have a $5 admission fee. Organizers emphasize that participants must bring their own skates as equipment will not be provided at the venue. Additionally, all minors 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult for safety and supervision purposes.

The Lake Charles Event Center, situated on 64 acres on the eastern rim of Lake Charles, serves as a central venue for entertainment, cultural, social, and educational events in the region. The upcoming skate night is part of the second quarter 2025 Partners in Parks events lineup, which includes various community activities scheduled throughout April, May, and June.

The Partners in Parks initiative, launched in July 2018 by Mayor Hunter's administration, aims to combine private and public resources to enhance park infrastructure and expand recreational programming throughout Lake Charles. According to city officials, the program has generated over $1.7 million for city parks without implementing additional taxation on local residents.

This summer skating event follows a similar Winter Wonderland skate night that was hosted earlier this year in January on the Gill Street Extension at the Lake Charles Event Center grounds. The upcoming June event offers residents another opportunity to engage in physical activity within a community setting.

The Lake Charles Event Center continues to serve as a versatile venue for the community, hosting everything from theatrical performances and concerts to festivals and sporting events. The Summer Fun Skate Night adds to the center's diverse calendar of family-friendly activities available to Lake Charles residents and visitors.
