Lake Charles, Louisiana – Lake Charles and Southwest Louisiana residents and visitors alike are in for a treat this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, November 1, 2, and 3, as the city is set to host a wide range of exciting events that cater to diverse interests. From live music performances and art exhibitions to farmers’ markets and community activities, there’s something for everyone to look forward to.

Music Lovers Unite

The month kicks off with the McNeese Cowboy Block Party on November 1, featuring live music by Zachery O’Quinn at the Robert Noland Alumni Pavilion. Later that evening, Paul Piazza will perform at Tia Juanita’s Fish Camp, a recurring weekly event that music enthusiasts won’t want to miss. On November 2, Effigy will take the stage at Crying Eagle Brewing, followed by Brianna Lanette on November 3.

Art and Culture

Art and culture enthusiasts in Southwest Louisiana will have plenty to look forward to, with several exhibitions opening this month. “Women Who Served” presented by the Lake Charles Mayor’s Armed Forces Commission, “Ubuhle Women: Beadwork and the Art of Independence,” and “The American Revolution Experience” will all be on display at the 1911 Historic City Hall Arts & Cultural Center. Additionally, the Gallery by the Lake will feature the “Hit Me With Your Best Shot Photography Exhibition” and the Lake Charles City Hall will showcase “WWII Fighter Aircraft Lithographs.”

Community Events

On November 2, the AARP will host a free shredding event at the Park Plaza Shopping Center, while the Enos Derbonne Sports Complex will play host to the Boot Walk to End Cancer. The Vineyard Lake Charles will hold a Fall Fest, featuring activities for all ages. Meanwhile, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Training Academy will offer Ladies Self-Defense Classes.

Recurring Events

Throughout the month, residents can also enjoy recurring events such as the Charlestown Farmers Market (Downtown) on Saturdays, the Iowa Farmers Market on the first Saturday of the month, and Meet Me at the Market at the 1911 Historic City Hall Arts & Cultural Center. Additionally, The Max Restaurant at The National will feature live music every Friday, while Cajun’s Wharf Grill & Bar will host The Hottest DJ’s in Lake Charles on Fridays and Saturdays.

Family-Friendly Fun

Families can look forward to the Pumpkin Chunkin’ Contest at North Beach/Interstate 10 on November 2, while the Imperial Calcasieu Museum will host November Yoga Under the Oak on the first and third Saturdays of the month. Pinederosa Park will play host to a Community Playdate on the first Sunday of the month.

Sunday Funday

Sundays will be a great day to relax and unwind, with several events scheduled. The Panorama Music House will host Pajama Jam Open Mic, while Rikenjaks will feature a Sunday Fun Day Zydeco Brunch with Zydecane. Luna Bar & Grill Downtown and Tia Juanita’s Fish Camp will both offer Sunday Jazz Brunches.
