Lake Charles, Louisiana – Motorists traveling on LA 385 Southbound should prepare for significant delays due to scheduled roadwork beginning Monday, January 13, 2025. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has announced that utility work will require a partial closure of the right lane on this busy thoroughfare.

The construction will commence at 7:00 AM on January 13 and is expected to conclude by 5:00 PM on January 20, 2025. The work zone will extend from W Claude Street to approximately 0.10 miles north of W Sale Road. This area is known for heavy traffic, and the right lane closure may lead to congestion as drivers adjust to the altered roadway conditions.

Officials from the DOTD urge drivers to plan their routes accordingly and allow for extra travel time. Drivers are recommended to find alternative routes to avoid delays, particularly during peak travel times.

Motorists are also reminded to adhere to posted signs and traffic control measures in place during the construction period.
