Lake Charles, Louisiana – A 23-year-old man from Lake Charles has been arrested and charged with 1st degree rape of a girl under the age of 13, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office (CPSO) announced. The suspect, identified as Lee A. Adams Jr., of Lake Charles, was taken into custody on November 7 after an investigation by CPSO detectives.
According to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office, the incident was reported on November 3, when deputies responded to a call regarding a sexual assault. During the investigation, detectives gathered information that led them to identify Adams as the suspect. Further investigation confirmed the allegations, resulting in Adams’ arrest and booking into the Calcasieu Correctional Center.
Adams has been charged with 1st degree rape, a serious offense that involves non-consensual sexual intercourse with a victim under the age of 13. The offense is considered a felony and carries severe penalties, including a significant prison sentence.
Judge Tony Fazzio set Adams’ bond at $1.5 million.
CPSO Detective Jeff Atkinson led the investigation, working closely with other law enforcement agencies to gather evidence and build a case against Adams.
