Lake Charles Police Respond to Shooting at Gerstner Memorial Blvd Convenience Store

Lake Charles, Louisiana - Authorities responded to a reported shooting at the King’s Point convenience store on Gerstner Memorial Boulevard in Lake Charles late Monday night, June 16, 2025. The Lake Charles Police Department and other emergency services arrived at the scene at around 10 p.m., with witnesses describing a heavy police presence and yellow crime scene tape cordoning off the entire store parking lot.

At the time this was published, official statements from the Lake Charles Police Department and the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office had not yet been released. Preliminary reports from individuals at the scene indicated that one person was shot multiple times — allegedly up to seven times — though the victim’s identity and condition have not been confirmed by authorities.

As of 11:15 PM, Monday night, no suspects have been named, and investigators have not disclosed any motives or other details about what led to the shooting. The store remains closed as detectives gather evidence and interview witnesses.

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
