Lake Charles Police Hunt for Damaged Mitsubishi in Connection with Fatal Hit-and-Run on Goodman Road

Lake Charles, Louisiana – Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a possible body on Thursday, May 30, around 4:15 p.m. in the vicinity of Goodman Road and Opelousas Street in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Upon arrival, they found the body of Larry J. Bushnell, 64, of Lake Charles, with injuries consistent with a possible hit-and-run incident.

In the course of the inquiry, law enforcement officers found many vehicle parts at the site and suspect that the vehicle involved is a black Mitsubishi Outlander from the years 2016-2019. The vehicle in question is likely to have noticeable damage to the front passenger side headlight and grill. The passenger side mirror may also be damaged or absent. Investigators believe that the suspect was heading towards the Lake Caroline Subdivision at the time of the hit and run.
