Lake Charles, Louisiana — A 29-year-old Lake Charles man has been arrested on a felony charge of indecent behavior with a juvenile following an investigation by the Lake Charles Police Department and review by the Calcasieu Parish District Attorney’s Office.

According to information released by law enforcement, officers with the Lake Charles Police Department responded at approximately 7:19 p.m. on Nov. 5, 2025, to a call on Pryce Street in Lake Charles.

During the initial response, patrol officers spoke with the victim, who is a minor. The juvenile reported that the suspect, later identified as Dontae Jamar Scott, allegedly inappropriately touched her multiple times the night before the report was made.

Case Transferred To Detectives

After the initial report, the case was turned over to the Lake Charles Police Department Detectives Division for further investigation. Detectives conducted multiple interviews and performed what authorities described as a thorough review of available evidence.

Following that investigative work, the case was forwarded to the Calcasieu Parish District Attorney’s Office for review. Prosecutors reviewed the materials and advised the investigator that the case was accepted and that an arrest warrant could be sought for Scott.

Warrant Obtained And Arrest Made

An arrest warrant for Dontae Jamar Scott was subsequently obtained. On Jan. 27, 2026, law enforcement located Scott and took him into custody.

Scott was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Correctional Facility on one felony count of indecent behavior with a juvenile. Bond was set at $200,000. The warrant and bond order were signed by Judge Tony Fazzio, according to the information provided.
