Lake Charles, Louisiana - Crews will close both inside and outside westbound lanes of Oak Park Boulevard between 2nd and 3rd Avenues in Lake Charles starting at 7 a.m. on Thursday, June 19. The City of Lake Charles has notified residents and commuters that these alternating lane closures will last until 10 a.m., weather permitting, to allow workers to inspect the roadway for essential repairs.

Access to the Lake Charles Memorial Hospital parking garage will remain open throughout the closure.

Alternating lane closure means that one or more lanes will close at a time, rotating as necessary, but at least one lane is expected to remain open for traffic.

Residents traveling in this area on Thursday morning should plan for possible delays and use alternate routes if possible. Local authorities remind drivers to obey all posted signage and instructions from roadway crews for everyone’s safety.
