Lake Charles Modifies Trash Collection Schedule Due to Heat

Lake Charles, Louisiana –  In response to scorching summer temperatures, the City of Lake Charles Solid Waste Division has announced a temporary modification to its weekly trash collection schedule.

Effective immediately, residents are advised to place larger trash items, such as furniture and bagged items, curbside by 5:30 a.m. on their scheduled pick-up day. Crews will be hitting the streets earlier in the day to avoid the blistering heat.

However, solid waste collection from garbage cans will proceed as normal and cans should be placed outside the evening before or by 7 a.m. on the designated pick-up day.
