Lake Charles Middle School Student Arrested for Online Shooting Threat Reported Using LA-SAFE

Lake Charles, Louisiana – A 12-year-old student at F.K. White Middle School in Lake Charles was arrested and charged with menacing on November 25 after allegedly making an online threat about a shooting at an unspecified school. According to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office (CPSO), the threat was reported by the Louisiana State Police LA-SAFE (Louisiana Analytical & Fusion Exchange) system.

At approximately 7:30 p.m. on November 25, CPSO deputies were dispatched to a home in Lake Charles in response to the threat. Upon arrival, detectives launched an investigation and quickly identified the 12-year-old suspect. According to CPSO, during questioning, the boy confirmed that he had made the online threat, leading to his arrest and detention at the Juvenile Detention Center.

Detective Roger Pete is the lead investigator on the case.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
