Lake Charles, Louisiana - Stephen D. Cormier, 45, of Lake Charles, Louisiana, was handed down a sentence of 99 years for second-degree sexual battery, 40 years for second-degree kidnapping, and 5 years for mingling harmful substances by Judge Clayton Davis on January 19, 2024.
The verdict represents the harshest possible punishment for each crime and will be served concurrently. Cormier is to undertake hard labor without the possibility of probation, parole, or suspension of his sentence.
Back in 2021, Cormier drugged the victim's drink with a sleeping aid and then relocated her while unconscious to commit sexual abuse.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Hope Buford, Taylor Alexander, and Chas Swinburn from the Calcasieu Parish District Attorney's Office.
