Lake Charles Man Sentenced to Life in Prison for the Death of His Ex-Girlfriend
Lake Charles, LA – Jewel D. Humphrey, 32, of Lake Charles, LA, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence on one count of second-degree murder on March 21, 2022.
A Calcasieu Parish jury found Humphrey guilty of one second-degree murder charge in November 2021. Humphrey brutally beat his ex-girlfriend in 2019, and the victim was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The case was prosecuted by Calcasieu Parish District Attorney’s Office Assistant District Attorneys Bobby Holmes and Taylor Alexander.
