Lake Charles Man Sentenced to 30 Years in Prison for Sexual Battery of Juveniles and Other Charges

From the Calcasieu Parish District Attorney’s Office – On May 21, 2021, Marlin D. Demouchet, 47, Lake Charles, was found guilty of two (2) counts Sexual Battery of a Victim Under Thirteen, one (1) count of Attempted Sexual Battery of a Victim Under Thirteen, one (1) count Sexual Battery, and one (1) count Simple Escape. Demouchet sexually abused 3 victims ages ranging from 10-13 at the time of the crimes.

On July 7, 2021, Judge Robert Wyatt sentenced Demouchet to 30 years in prison without benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence on each count of sexual battery of a victim under thirteen; 15 years in prison without benefit on the attempted sexual battery of a victim under thirteen; 10 years in prison without benefit on the sexual battery charge; and 3 years in prison on the simple escape. All of these sentences are to run concurrent to the simple escape sentence which will run consecutively.

On August 18th, the Calcasieu Parish District Attorney’s Office will be seeking further sentencing enhancement as a habitual felony offender due to his repeated sexual abuse of children.
