Lake Charles Man Found Guilty of Principal to Armed Robbery with a Firearm and Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon

From the Calcasieu Parish District Attorney’s Office – On January 28, 2020, Domenique Bryant, 33, was found guilty of Principal to Armed Robbery with a Firearm and Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon, before District Court Judge Robert L. Wyatt.

On Friday, June 8, 2018, officers with the Lake Charles Police Department were called to the victim’s residence on Guy Street in Lake Charles, Louisiana, about a shooting. Upon officer’s arrival, they found the victim lying on his kitchen floor with gunshot wounds to the lower torso and right thigh. The investigation revealed that a woman had knocked on the victim’s door and asked to use the phone. The victim allowed the woman inside. When he turned around, he was immediately confronted by two males, shot and robbed of cash from his person, and a handgun from his residence.

Eyewitnesses identified Bryant as one of the males at the residence. Surveillance cameras at the scene also identified Bryant and his codefendants riding by the victim’s house at least 20 times before the attack.

The Lake Charles Police Department investigated the case. Detective Willie Fontenot and Deputy Chief Franklin Fondel were the lead detectives.

Assistant District Attorney’s Charles Robinson and Joey Williams prosecuted the case for the Calcasieu Parish District Attorney’s Office.

Sentencing is set for April 3, 2020.
