Lake Charles Man Arrested on First-Degree Rape Charges Following Allegations Involving Minor Under 10

Lake Charles, Louisiana - On July 1, detectives from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office received a report concerning Jonathan J. Landry, a 34-year-old resident of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The investigation revealed allegations of sexual assault involving a girl under the age of 10. Following a thorough inquiry, a warrant for Landry's arrest was issued on July 11. Efforts to locate him at that time were unsuccessful.

However, on August 4, Landry voluntarily surrendered to authorities, leading to his arrest and subsequent booking at the Calcasieu Correctional Center on a charge of first-degree rape. Judge Tony Fazzio has established his bond at $1 million. The case is being led by Detective Jeff Atkinson of the CPSO Special Victims Unit.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
