Lake Charles Man Arrested for Sexual Battery & Indecent Behaviour with Juveniles

From CPSO – On November 10 Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested Benjamin H. Hurst, Jr., 35, Lake Charles after an investigation revealed he had inappropriate sexual contact with a child. During the investigation, it was learned the incidents took place between 2014 and 2015 when the victim was under the age of 13.
He was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with sexual battery; and indecent behavior with juveniles. Judge Michael Canaday set his bond at $900,000.
CPSO Detective Jacob Dore is the lead investigator in the case.

Public safety officials with the Louisiana State Police and other agencies commend peaceful assemblies and activities throughout the weekend and urge the reporting of suspicious activity in the coming days ahead of the inauguration.
On January 16, 2021, shortly after 8:00 a.m., Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop D responded to a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 about 3 ½ miles west of LA Hwy 1256 in Calcasieu Parish. The crash claimed the life of 32-year-old Danielle Elyce Batchelder of Sulphur.
