Lake Charles, Louisiana – A recent joint undercover operation between the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office (CPSO), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the Louisiana State Police has led to the arrest of a 28-year-old Lake Charles man. Wilson J. Washington, III of Lake Charles, Louisiana, was taken into custody on Friday, November 8, after investigators caught him allegedly attempting to solicit a minor for sexual acts online.
According to authorities, Washington was chatting with an individual he believed to be a 16-year-old girl, discussing potential sexual encounters. Unbeknownst to him, the person on the other end was an undercover investigator. Detectives made contact with Washington at a local park in Lake Charles, where he had arranged to meet the supposed minor.
Washington was subsequently arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center. He has been charged with indecent behavior with juveniles and computer aided solicitation of a minor. Judge Tony Fazzio set his bond at $150,000.
The operation was led by CPSO Special Victims Unit Detective Alexander Vincent.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
