Lake Charles, Louisiana - Calcasieu Parish authorities arrested a Lake Charles man on July 18 after investigators linked him to child sexual abuse material and a video involving bestiality, following a complaint received by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.

According to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office, Special Victim Unit detectives—members of the Louisiana Attorney General’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force—opened an inquiry into a report alleging the online possession of illegal material. The ICAC Task Force, part of a national initiative partnering with both federal and local law enforcement, uses advanced techniques to investigate technology-related child sexual exploitation, including the possession and distribution of child pornography and other internet crimes against minors.

Through forensic investigation, detectives identified Zachary P. Gautreau, 27, of Lake Charles, Louisiana, as a suspect. On July 18, Gautreau was apprehended and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center. He faces nine counts of pornography involving juveniles and one count of sexual abuse of animals. Bond for Gautreau is pending. Detective Alexander Vincent is leading the case.

The ICAC Task Force operates nationally as a network of law enforcement agencies, providing resources, training, and support for investigations into online child exploitation. These operations aim to respond to the rising use of digital technology in criminal activity against children, enhance prosecutorial effectiveness, and increase awareness of online child victimization issues in local communities.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
