On October 23, detectives from the Special Victims Unit of the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office received a lead from the organization Women Against Predators regarding a complaint about inappropriate conduct. Throughout the investigation, detectives learned that Jacob W. Manuel, 33, from Lake Charles, Louisiana was allegedly engaging in sexually explicit discussions with someone he thought was a 13-year-old girl. He also allegedly shared sexually explicit images during these exchanges.

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office reported that detectives performed a comprehensive investigation and were able to confirm the details provided by the organization.

On February 5, Manuel was taken into custody and processed at the Calcasieu Correctional Center on charges of indecent behavior with a juvenile. His bond has not yet been set.

Detective Alexander Vincent from the CPSO Special Victims Unit is the primary investigator assigned to this case.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
