Lake Charles Man Arrested After Allegedly Shooting a Person Through a Door

A Lake Charles man has been arrested and charged with aggravated 2nd-degree battery after allegedly shooting someone through a door.

Lake Charles, LA – CPSO deputies reportedly responded to a residence located on Snapper Lane in Lake Charles on October 30, 2021, at about 5:00 p.m., in relation to a shooting, according to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office. During the first inquiry, it was determined that the victim and a resident of the home, Phoenix J. Grindol, 25, had an altercation, and the victim began pounding on the door while Grindol was inside. The victim was then allegedly shot through the door by Grindol. Deputies were informed that the victim had left the area before they arrived. Deputies learned the victim was in a local hospital, suffering from a gunshot wound, a short time later.

Grindol was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center after additional investigation. He was charged with aggravated 2nd-degree battery. His bond had not yet been set at the time this was published.
The victim’s status is listed as stable but serious.
