Lake Charles, Louisiana – As of June 19, 2024, at 9:45, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office was searching for 23-year-old Malik D. Williams, who escaped custody earlier today during an investigation at a residence on Gulf Highway in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Williams, who was being arrested on domestic abuse charges, managed to slip out of his handcuffs and flee on foot when a deputy opened the door to check on him. At the time of his escape, Williams was wearing gray Nike shorts, no shirt, and black and white Nike shoes.
Despite an extensive search of the area, deputies were unable to locate Williams, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest. Judge David Ritchie has set the bond at $375,000, charging Williams with domestic abuse battery and simple escape.

CPSO indicated that those found to be assisting or harboring Williams will face charges accordingly.
