Lake Charles, Louisiana – Lake Charles residents will have an opportunity to give their Christmas trees a second life through an upcoming recycling initiative. Team Green-Keep Greater Lake Charles Beautiful has announced its second annual Christmas Tree Recycling event, scheduled for Saturday, January 4, 2025.
The event, running from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., will take place at the Nelson Ball Field/Alma Lane Recycling Station. The drive-and-drop format allows residents to easily contribute to local sustainability efforts while disposing of their holiday trees responsibly.
Participants are requested to remove all decorations, including lights and tinsel, before dropping off their trees. The collected trees will be processed into mulch, which will subsequently be used in various city beautification projects throughout Lake Charles.
The initiative represents a collaborative effort between municipal authorities and private sector partners, including Vermeer Texas-Louisiana and M&M Lawn & Irrigation. This partnership demonstrates a community-wide commitment to environmental stewardship and resource conservation.
