Lake Charles, Louisiana – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced the start of a significant construction project on LA 3059, stretching from Goos Ferry Road to Red Marceaux Road. The work is scheduled to begin on Monday, February 17, 2025, and is expected to last until late March 2025.

During the construction period, motorists should anticipate intermittent daily lane closures. These closures are necessary to facilitate various road improvement activities, including milling of asphalt pavement, pavement patching, and the paving of the roadway with new asphalt. Milling refers to the process of removing the surface layer of asphalt to prepare for repairs or resurfacing, while pavement patching involves fixing specific areas of the road that may have deteriorated or developed cracks.

Prairie Contractors has been awarded the contract for this project.

Motorists are advised to remain alert while driving in the area and to plan their routes accordingly to avoid delays.
