Lake Charles, Louisiana – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced a temporary lane closure that will affect traffic at the intersection of LA 1138-2, also known as Nelson Road, and Cagle Lane. The closure is set to begin on Monday, July 29, 2024, and will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

During this time, the northbound right lane of Nelson Road will be closed to allow crews to carry out necessary improvements to traffic signals in the area. Motorists who are traveling northbound on LA 1138-2 will still have access to turn right onto West Prien Lake Road.

The upgrades aim to enhance traffic flow and improve safety for all road users. Drivers are encouraged to exercise caution when approaching the work zone and to consider alternative routes if possible.

This effort by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development is part of ongoing transportation improvements across the state. Updates on the progress of the work and any changes to this schedule will be communicated as they arise.
