Lake Charles, Louisiana — Motorists traveling through Lake Charles should plan for traffic changes along Louisiana Highway 14 Northbound on Friday, May 23, as utility crews conduct scheduled roadwork. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has announced that the right lane of LA 14 Northbound will be partially closed from approximately 0.04 miles south of Aquarius Street to Aquarius Street. The closure will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

According to DOTD officials, the closure is necessary to allow utility workers to perform essential infrastructure improvements.

The project is set to begin early in the morning to minimize disruptions during peak traffic times. However, drivers are encouraged to consider alternative routes or to allow additional travel time if their commute takes them through the affected area.
