Lake Charles, Louisiana – In Lake Charles, Louisiana, on Sunday, November 5, around 3:30 a.m., off-duty deputies from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office who were working security detail at a bar on Common Street heard gunshots coming from another bar across the street. Upon arrival at the scene, they discovered that a woman had been shot in the parking lot but had already been taken to the hospital.
Detectives from CPSO arrived and began processing the area and reviewing surveillance footage. Through further investigation, deputies found a gun believed to be used in the shooting at a residence on N. Prater Street in Lake Charles.
The victim was transported to an out-of-town hospital for treatment of her injuries sustained in the shooting.
At the time this was published, no arrests had been made, and CPSO Detective Larry Cormier is leading the investigation.
All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
