Lake Charles, Louisiana - Lake Charles drivers should expect intermittent right-lane closures on LA 385 (Ryan Street) northbound between Aqua Drive and W. LaGrange Street from Friday, August 15, 2025, through Friday, December 19, 2025, daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., due to roadwork. The closures will be partial and occur as needed along the corridor.

The planned work affects a key north–south route through Lake Charles and will operate on a daily schedule for four months, which means recurring delays are possible during daytime hours. The right lane will close intermittently, allowing crews to move and stage equipment while maintaining traffic in the open lane. Motorists should watch for signage, slow down near crews, and allow extra time for commutes in the area.

Location details:

  • Route: LA 385 (Ryan Street), northbound
  • Limits: Aqua Drive to W. LaGrange Street
  • Lanes affected: Right lane only
  • Type: Intermittent lane closure
  • Schedule: Daily, 7 a.m.–7 p.m.
  • Duration: Aug. 15, 2025–Dec. 19, 2025

What drivers can do:

  • Consider alternate routes during peak travel times.
  • Use caution entering the work zone and obey posted speed limits.
  • Allow additional time if traveling to schools, businesses, or neighborhoods near Aqua Drive and W. LaGrange Street.

While no full closures are scheduled, intermittent single-lane operations can create bottlenecks as crews shift work areas throughout the day. The daily schedule provides predictability for planning, especially for commuters who regularly use Ryan Street.
