Lake Charles, Louisiana — The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has announced scheduled lane closures along Interstate 10 Westbound in Lake Charles from Enterprise Boulevard to Lakeshore Drive, covering mile markers 31.2 to 29. The alternating lane closures will take place overnight, beginning at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, and ending at 5 a.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2025.

During the period of construction, both the Enterprise Boulevard and Kirkman Street on-ramps leading onto I-10 Westbound will be closed. This is designed to protect work crews and streamline repairs. DOTD officials have specified that the closure is necessary for vital guardrail repairs, which help protect drivers by absorbing impact and preventing vehicles from leaving the roadway in the event of a crash or incident.

Motorists traveling in the area should anticipate delays and are advised to plan alternate routes. The official detour provided by DOTD directs drivers to use Church Street and Lakeshore Drive to access I-10 Westbound while the closures are in effect.
