Lake Charles, LA – At approximately 10:40 am, the Lake Charles Police Department announced that both westbound lanes of the I-10 Bridge are temporarily closed due to a significant incident involving an 18-wheeler. The truck lost its trailer, resulting in a blockage that has led to the diversion of traffic in the area.

Authorities reported that westbound traffic is being redirected to Lakeshore Drive, while the eastbound inside lane is also obstructed. Westlake Police Department is managing the eastbound situation by diverting vehicles to the outside lane where possible. As diversions are in effect, motorists are advised to seek alternative routes to avoid delays.

The incident has caused considerable congestion on the bridge, which serves as a vital thoroughfare in the region. Law enforcement officials are currently on the scene to manage traffic and ensure the safety of all involved. No injuries have been reported at this time.

Motorists should remain patient and exercise caution while navigating through the affected areas. Updates will be provided as the situation develops and as crews work to clear the blockage.
