Lake Charles, Louisiana — The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has announced a temporary closure of the right lane along Interstate 10 Eastbound in Lake Charles, specifically near the Ryan Street exit. The closure will extend from mile marker 29.8 to mile marker 31. This maintenance project is set to begin at 8 p.m. on Monday, May 19, 2025, and is expected to conclude by 5 a.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.

According to DOTD officials, the lane closure is necessary to allow crews to perform essential guardrail repairs.

The scheduled work will take place overnight to minimize the impact on daily traffic flow and local commuters. However, drivers traveling through the area during these hours should anticipate possible delays and exercise caution near the construction zone. DOTD advises motorists to reduce speed, stay alert for signage, and follow any instructions from traffic control personnel.

All work is contingent upon favorable weather conditions. In the event of inclement weather, repairs may be rescheduled to ensure the safety of both the work crews and the traveling public.
