Lake Charles, Louisiana - I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge in Lake Charles to Have Lane Closures for Routine Inspection

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced that there will be lane closures on I-10 Eastbound and Westbound over the Calcasieu River Bridge, starting from Tuesday, November 28, 2023, through Friday, December 8, 2023.

The closure schedule is as follows:

  • I-10 Eastbound: November 28-30 and December 6-8, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily.
  • I-10 Westbound: December 1, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., December 2-3, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, and December 4-5, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily.

These lane closures are necessary for the routine inspection of the Calcasieu River Bridge. Motorists should be aware that wide loads will be restricted to 14 feet during this period. All work is subject to weather conditions.

To minimize disruptions, motorists are advised to use Interstate 210 as a detour route.

The routine inspection of bridges is crucial to ensure the safety and functionality of these critical infrastructures.
