Lake Charles, Louisiana – This Saturday, December 7th, the City of Lake Charles will transform the Historic City Hall Arts & Cultural Center into a holiday-themed market, welcoming the community to “Meet Me at the Market.” The event will feature local student artists from the McNeese Student Art Association, who will be hosting their Holiday Art Sale, showcasing a diverse range of artwork, including pottery, prints, drawings, and paintings.
In addition to the art sale, the market will offer various holiday-themed attractions, including a visit from Santa Claus, who will be stopping by on Saturday morning for photos and meet-and-greets. The City of Lake Charles Parks & Recreation team will also be bringing “Chuck the Train” for kids to ride for free, providing a fun and festive experience for families.
Foodies will also be pleased to know that Gary’s Grub Hub will be serving brunch, offering a range of eats and treats for sale. Visitors can also take a break from shopping to create their own ornaments and Christmas cards in workshops located on the second floor of Historic City Hall.
The McNeese Student Art Association, which is hosting the Holiday Art Sale, is a student organization that engages students with the community and abroad in art-related events and activities. Through the association, students have the opportunity to network with local artists and alumni, gaining valuable experience and advancing their educational careers. The association’s activities range from student-juried exhibitions to participation in art walks, gallery promenades, and local festivals.
