Lake Charles Homicide Being Investigated by Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office

Lake Charles, LA – On September 5, 2019, around 10:40 a.m., the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a shopping center in the 3000 block of Highway 14 in Lake Charles in reference to a possible dead body. When deputies arrived they located the body of a man behind the shopping center. During the initial investigation it was learned Lorenzo S. Green, 36, homeless, was responsible for the death of the man.

Green is currently being booked in and will be charged with 2nd degree murder.

The investigation is in the preliminary stages and there is no further information available at this time. Next of kin has not been notified so the victim’s name has not been released.

The Calcasieu Coroner will determine cause of death.
