Lake Charles, Louisiana - River Road in Lake Charles, between Charles Breaux Road and the intersection of LA 3059, will be closed to all traffic from 8 a.m. on Wednesday, August 6, until 5 p.m. on Thursday, August 7, due to scheduled tree removal. The closure is planned as a safety measure to allow crews sufficient space and time to remove potentially hazardous trees in the area, which can help prevent future roadway incidents during severe weather events.

Local drivers are advised to follow detour signs and using Pujol Road, LA 3059, and Charles Breaux Road to navigate around the closure. The work schedule is dependent on weather conditions, so delays or changes may occur if adverse weather arises.

Detours will be clearly marked, and officials urge all drivers to remain alert and mindful of detour signage to minimize confusion and ensure smooth traffic flow.
