Lake Charles, Louisiana - The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying two suspects accused of using a stolen credit card to buy alcohol at a Lake Charles store.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Financial Crimes detectives opened an investigation in November 2024 after a reported theft at a local business on Kirkman Street in Lake Charles. The complaint involved unauthorized purchases made with a stolen credit card.
Investigators said the incident dates back to August 31, 2024, when two unidentified suspects entered the store and completed eight separate purchases of alcohol. Store representatives later discovered that the credit card used during those transactions had been stolen.
Following the report, detectives launched a detailed investigation. The Financial Crimes unit conducted numerous interviews, issued subpoenas, and pursued several leads related to potential suspects. Despite those efforts, investigators have not yet been able to confirm the identities of the two individuals believed to be involved.
The Sheriff’s Office has released a photograph of the suspects and is renewing its call for assistance from the community. Detectives say tips from the public are often critical in resolving financial crime cases, especially when surveillance images are available but names are unknown.
Anyone with information about this theft or the individuals shown in the photograph is asked to contact Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office lead detective Lt. John Melton at (337) 494-4565. Tipsters can also call Crime Stoppers at (337) 439-2222.
Authorities note that callers to Crime Stoppers may remain anonymous, and information provided could help move the investigation forward.
All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
