Lake Charles, Louisiana – The City of Lake Charles is set to bring the community together with a free, family-friendly concert event, Music in the Park, on Wednesday, June 18, 2025. Organized through the city’s Partners in Parks Initiative, the concert will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at Nellie Lutcher Memorial Park, located at 702 Enterprise Blvd.

Music in the Park aims to provide residents with an opportunity to enjoy live music in a relaxed outdoor setting. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs for comfortable seating on the park grounds. The event is designed for all ages, promoting a safe and inclusive atmosphere for families and individuals alike.

A local food truck will be available on site, offering a variety of concessions for purchase. This allows concertgoers to enjoy a meal or snack while listening to the music, supporting local small business in the process.

To ensure the comfort and safety of all attendees, event organizers have stated that pets will not be allowed inside the park during the concert.

The Partners in Parks Initiative, a program led by the City of Lake Charles, focuses on enhancing public spaces and fostering community engagement through events and improvements in local parks. By hosting events like Music in the Park, the initiative strives to connect residents, encourage use of public spaces, and support local culture.

Nellie Lutcher Memorial Park, named in honor of the renowned jazz and rhythm & blues musician from Lake Charles, regularly serves as a venue for community gatherings and recreational activities. Its central location and ample green space make it an ideal spot for outdoor events such as this concert.

The City of Lake Charles encourages all residents to take advantage of this free event and enjoy an evening of live entertainment in a welcoming park setting.
