Lake Charles City Officials Close I-10 North Beach After Increase in COVID-19 Cases

From the City of Lake Charles – The City of Lake Charles is announcing the closure of I-10 North Beach beginning Wednesday, July 1, 2020.
The closure is a precautionary public health and safety effort as the number of positive COVID-19 cases and related hospitalizations continue to increase in the area.
Access to the parking lot at the old Harrah’s Casino site will also be prohibited beginning Wednesday, July 1, 2020.
The Lake Charles Civic Center remains closed during this time as well.
These closures follow Governor Edwards’s extension of Phase 2 of the State’s reopening announced last week and will remain in place until further guidance is received from appropriate state-level officials regarding a move into Phase 3.
