Lake Charles, Louisiana – The City of Lake Charles will have a modified garbage and trash collection schedule due to the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.
Lake Charles Christmas Garbage and Trash Schedule
For the Christmas holiday, garbage and trash pickup usually scheduled for Monday, December 25, 2023, will be moved to Tuesday, December 26, 2023. The pickup scheduled for Tuesday, December 26, 2023, will be on Wednesday, December 27, 2023. Thursday and Friday routes will not be affected. The Wood Waste Facility, the Team Green Recycling Truck, and the Nelson Ball Field Recycling Stations will be closed on Monday, December 25, 2023, and will reopen on Tuesday, December 26, 2023.
Lake Charles New Year’s Garbage and Trash Schedule
For the New Year’s holiday, garbage and trash pickup usually scheduled for Monday, January 1, 2024, will be shifted to Tuesday, January 2, 2024. The pickup scheduled for Tuesday, January 2, 2024, will be on Wednesday, January 3, 2024. Thursday and Friday routes will not be changed. The Wood Waste Facility, the Team Green Recycling Truck, and the Nelson Ball Field Recycling Station will be closed on Monday, January 1, 2024, and will reopen on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.
Lake Charles Collection Day Reminder
To ensure proper collection, containers, and items should be placed out before 7 a.m. on collection day or the evening before. Containers must be removed by 7 p.m. on the day of collection. The responsibility of collecting any spills from the container lies with the owner, occupant, or tenant.
Lake Charles Christmas Tree Disposal
Live Christmas trees can be left at the curb for collection, but all decorations and lights must be removed. In 2024, there will also be a Christmas Tree Recycling Drop-off on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at the Nelson Road/Alma Lane Recycling Station. Live Christmas trees without decorations or lights can be dropped off between 9 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. Lake Charles City Hall and the Department of Public Works will be closed on Monday, December 25, 2023, for the Christmas holiday and will reopen on Tuesday, December 26, 2023. They will also be closed on Monday, January 1, 2024, for the New Year’s holiday and will reopen on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.
