Lake Charles Charter Academy Student Arrested for Alleged Bomb Threat at School

Lake Charles, Louisiana - Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office deputies received a report on December 11 regarding a student at Lake Charles Charter Academy who allegedly made a threatening statement at the school. CPSO indicated that upon initial investigation, it was discovered that a 13-year-old girl had made threats of blowing up the school in front of a teacher and other students.

Following additional inquiry, the student was taken into custody, charged with menacing, and placed in the Juvenile Detention Center. CPSO Detective Mika Miguez is heading the investigation for this case.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
