Lake Charles BOO-Tastic Bash Mall Trick-Or-Treat, Howl-O-Ween Doggie Dress-Up, and Pumpkin Chunking Contest Information

Lake Charles, Louisiana – The City of Lake Charles announced on October 12, 2022, that they will once again collaborate with Prien Lake Mall and Healthy Blue to provide a safe Halloween experience for the entire family on Monday, October 31.
From 5-7 p.m., the BOO-Tastic Bash will include a mall-wide trick-or-treat. Children are encouraged to dress up and hunt through the mall and its businesses for candy while supplies last.
Harvest Fest games will be provided by the City’s Recreation and Parks Department.

“Partnerships between public and private agencies have provided us with the opportunity to put a new spin on some old events and these Halloween festivities are no different,” said Lake Charles Mayor Nic Hunter. “We are excited to partner with the Prien Lake Mall and Healthy Blue once again to provide a safe, festive location for community members to get out and enjoy Halloween.”

All events will take place at Prien Lake Mall,  located at 496 East Prien Lake Road, and are free and open to the public. Toy weapons are not permitted, and costume masks may be worn solely when trick-or-treating.

The City suggests that trick-or-treating activities finish at 8 p.m. that night. Unless they are attending a supervised gathering sponsored by other parents or civic organizations, parents are asked to have their children home by 8:30 p.m.

In addition to these Halloween-themed events, the City of Lake Charles is offering two additional Halloween and Fall-themed events.

The City of Lake Charles is partnering with Gill Bright Animal Hospital to present the first Howl-O-Ween Doggie Dress-Up Day as part of its Partners in Parks Initiative.
On Saturday, October 22, 2022, from 2-4 p.m., there will be plenty of spooky, tail-wagging fun at Bark Du Lac Dog Park (111 W. Pine St.).

The City of Lake Charles and the Region 5 STEM Center are collaborating to bring STEM-based fun to the community this fall with a brand-new event, the Pumpkin Chunking Contest!
Pumpkins will soar across the sandy shoreline of I-10 North Beach in Lake Charles on Sunday, November 6, 2022, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. This contest was originally scheduled for November 5, but due to the threat of inclement weather, the Pumpkin Chunking Contest is being rescheduled for Sunday, November 6, 2022, from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m.
