Lake Charles, Louisiana - Louisiana State Police say an ongoing narcotics investigation in Calcasieu Parish led to the seizure of more than 85 pounds of methamphetamine and the arrests of three people from Lake Charles and Sulphur.
According to the Louisiana State Police Criminal Investigations Division Lake Charles Field Office (CID–LCFO), the investigation began on Dec. 2, 2025, and focused on 48-year-old Brent Touchet of Lake Charles, described by investigators as a known narcotics trafficker operating in Calcasieu Parish.
Traffic Stop Sparks Larger Narcotics Case
Detectives with CID–LCFO and the Criminal Intelligence Unit, working alongside the Calcasieu Parish Combined Anti-Drug Task Force, were conducting surveillance when they observed Touchet leave a Lake Charles area hotel. He was seen with 45-year-old Jessica Robinson of Lake Charles and 41-year-old Josh Reeves of Sulphur.
Troopers later conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle driven by Reeves for what they described as observed traffic violations. During that stop, troopers noticed indicators of possible criminal activity. Those observations led to a probable cause search of the vehicle.
The search led to the discovery of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. All three occupants were arrested at the scene.
- Brent Touchet was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
- Josh Reeves was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
- Jessica Robinson was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and additional unspecified charges.
Investigators later determined that the vehicle driven by Reeves during the stop had been reported stolen.
Search Warrants Executed At Lake Charles Hotel And Casino Vehicle
Throughout the day, detectives gathered information indicating that Touchet had left another vehicle unattended at a local casino in the Lake Charles area. Based on this information, CID–LCFO personnel obtained search warrants for both the hotel room occupied by Touchet and Robinson and the vehicle parked at the casino.
During execution of the search warrant on the vehicle at the casino, detectives discovered more than 85 pounds of methamphetamine hidden in the trunk, along with a handgun that was also concealed there.
