Lake Charles, Louisiana – The City of Lake Charles has announced its holiday schedule and service adjustments in observance of Veterans Day on Monday, November 11, 2024. City offices will be closed, and various services, including trash and garbage collection, will be affected.
As part of the city’s holiday schedule, there will be no trash or garbage pickup on Monday, November 11. To accommodate the missed collection day, the city has implemented a revised pickup schedule. Residents who normally receive trash and garbage collection on Mondays will have their services rescheduled for Tuesday, November 12. Similarly, those who typically receive collection on Tuesdays will have their services rescheduled for Wednesday, November 13. Thursday and Friday routes will remain unchanged and will proceed as scheduled.
In addition to the changes in trash and garbage collection, all recycling stations, including the Team Green recycling truck and the incinerator, will be closed on Monday, November 11, and will resume regular operations on Tuesday, November 12. The Lake Charles City Hall and other city departments, including the Department of Public Works, will also be closed on Monday and will reopen on Tuesday.
Residents are reminded to place their containers and other items for removal before 7 a.m. on collection day or on the evening preceding collection day. Containers should be removed no later than 7 p.m. on the day of collection. Furthermore, homeowners, occupants, tenants, and others are responsible for collecting any spillage from containers.
