Lake Charles Announces Extended Closure for Enterprise Blvd Improvement Works

Lake Charles, Louisiana - The City of Lake Charles has announced that starting from 8 a.m. on Monday, November 27, 2023, the north and southbound lanes of Enterprise Boulevard, from Broad to 2nd Streets, will be closed to both vehicles and pedestrians. This closure is part of the ongoing Enterprise Boulevard drainage improvement and road overlay project. Weather permitting, this phase is expected to continue until 8 a.m. on Wednesday, January 31, 2024. Details about the closures for the next phase will be announced closer to the anticipated start date.

Capital Project No. 3277 Enterprise Blvd. Reconstruction from 12th St. to Broad Street is a multi-year project that includes drainage and sidewalk improvements as well as road reconstruction and overlay. Throughout this project's duration, local traffic will have access; however, through traffic is strongly encouraged to use 1st Avenue as a detour. The project commenced in August 2023 with the construction of a drainage outfall on 1st Street between Enterprise Boulevard and 1st Avenue.
