Lake Charles, LA – The City of Lake Charles has announced a street closure that will impact residents and commuters in the area. Beginning at 7 am on Thursday, November 21, 2024, both lanes of Creole Street, between Louie and Penn Streets, will be closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

According to city officials, the closure is necessary to allow contractors to install underground water and sewer utilities in the area. This infrastructure upgrade is expected to improve the overall quality of life for residents and businesses in the surrounding neighborhoods.

While the closure may cause inconvenience for some, the city has assured that access will be maintained for local traffic.

The closure is expected to last until 5 pm on Saturday, December 21, 2024, weather permitting.

Residents and commuters are advised to plan ahead and seek alternative routes to avoid the closure.
