Lake Charles, Louisiana – Lake Charles and Southwest Louisiana residents can look forward to a fun-filled weekend with various events scheduled for December 6-8, 2024. The festivities kick off on Friday, December 6, with multiple events taking place across the region.
At the Calcasieu Parish Courthouse, “Christmas at the Courthouse: The Santa Clause” will be held from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Meanwhile, in downtown DeQuincy, the “Dickens in DeQuincy” event will start at 5:00 pm on Friday and continue on Saturday at 9:00 am.
Other Friday events include the “Cajun Christmas Carnival” at Prien Lake Elementary from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm and “Christmas in the Courtyard” at The Johnson Firm from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm. The “Christmas Lights of Lake Charles” event will also start on Friday and run daily until December 31, 2024, at Trinity Baptist Church/Trinity Center from 5:30 pm to 11:00 pm.
On Saturday, December 7, the “Westlake Christmas Parade” will take place in downtown Westlake along Sampson Street, starting at 1:00 pm. Additionally, the “Giving Back at The Shack” event will be held at Caddy Shack Icehouse from 2:00 pm to 12:00 am.
McNeese State University will celebrate its 85th birthday with a blowout event on the lawn in front of the Historic F.G. Bulber Auditorium from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Saturday. Furthermore, the “Merry Swiftmas, A Taylor Swift Christmas Event” will be held at Etie’s, A Children’s Shoppe from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
The weekend will conclude on Sunday, December 8, with “GP’s Christmas Fest” at The Creative Corner (Le Soleil Boutique) starting at 12:00 pm. The “Lake Charles Messiah Chorus and Orchestra” will perform at F.G. Bulber Auditorium on McNeese Campus from 3:00 pm to 4:15 pm.
Residents and visitors can also enjoy various events throughout the weekend, including live music performances, farmers’ markets, and holiday exhibits.
