Lake Charles, Louisiana – Starting Monday, July 22, 2024, motorists in Lake Charles, Louisiana, should be prepared for alternating lane closures on LA 3092, also known as Lake Street. The closures will stretch from Mary Diane McCall Road to Inverery Drive and will be in effect daily for up to three weeks.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced that flaggers will be on-site to direct traffic during the closures. These lane closures are necessary for crews to conduct a roadway milling and overlay project along this section of LA 3092.

Drivers are advised to plan their routes accordingly, expect delays, and follow the instructions of the flaggers on site to ensure smooth traffic flow and safety for all road users.

The roadway milling and overlay project aims to improve the quality and lifespan of the road, enhancing safety and driving conditions for motorists using this busy thoroughfare in Lake Charles. Once completed, the upgraded road surface will provide a smoother and more durable driving experience for commuters and residents in the area.
