Lake Charles, Louisiana - The Arts Council of Southwest Louisiana, in partnership with the City of Lake Charles, has officially announced the availability of the Lake Charles Partnership Grant application for the upcoming 2025-2026 fiscal year. This competitive grant program is designed to support the arts community within Lake Charles and is funded annually by the city, with administration handled by the Arts & Humanities Council of Southwest Louisiana.
The Lake Charles Partnership Grant encompasses two distinct types of funding opportunities: Project Assistance and Organizational Support. Project Assistance grants, which range from $500 to $3,000, are intended to provide financial backing for specific projects that take place on one or multiple dates. These projects are held within the city limits of Lake Charles.
There are also organizational support grants which offer up to $3,000 for operational expenses. These expenses may include salaries, supplies, utilities, and marketing efforts for arts organizations that hold 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status from the Internal Revenue Service. Similar to Project Assistance, applicants seeking Organizational Support must also be based within the city limits of Lake Charles.
Individuals and organizations interested in applying for these grants can download the application forms from the Arts Council's official website at www.artscouncilswla.org. All applications must be submitted by Friday, February 14, 2025, before 5:00 PM. Following the submission period, a grant review panel is scheduled to convene in early March at Central School. During this review session, a panel will evaluate the applications and recommend funding levels to the Arts Council's board of directors. It is important to note that funding decisions for the grants are made independently from the City of Lake Charles.
The Lake Charles Partnership Grant offers a valuable opportunity for local artists and organizations to secure necessary funding to enhance the cultural landscape of the community. Interested applicants are encouraged to review the guidelines and prepare their submissions accordingly.
