Sulphur, Louisiana – Motorists traveling through Sulphur, Louisiana, should prepare for lane closures on LA 27 (South Beglis Pkwy) Northbound and Southbound starting Monday, July 1, 2024, as the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) embarks on a road maintenance project. The partial closure, which will affect both left and right lanes, is scheduled to last until Tuesday, December 31, 2024, weather permitting.

The alternating lane closure will take place daily, with work commencing at 7:00 AM and wrapping up around 5:00 PM. The affected stretch of road spans from the I-10 intersection to LA 108. This roadwork is essential to ensure the safety and longevity of the highway, and drivers are advised to plan their routes accordingly to minimize delays.

During the partial closure, motorists can expect reduced speeds and potential congestion. The DOTD recommends allowing extra time for travel and considering alternative routes to avoid the construction zone. The agency will provide regular updates on the project’s progress and any changes to the schedule.
